About This Spot
Walking into Lydia’s La Canasta in Wickenburg is like stepping into a warm kitchen where familiar smells and friendly faces invite you to slow down and savor the moment. The food experience here is deeply rooted in tradition, enriched by homemade touches you can taste in every bite. Imagine the subtle warmth of green chile burro enchiladas or the satisfying comfort of huevos rancheros accompanied by warm beans and rice — each dish inviting you to pause and enjoy the simple pleasures of a meal made with care. Chips arrive fresh and crunchy, set off by salsas that carry a perfect balance of spice and brightness, drawing you in before the main course even lands.

And for those moments when you need a little extra, the fixings — extra cheese, jalapeños, or a side of salsa fresca — invite a personalized touch to your plate.
Lydia’s La Canasta feels less like a restaurant and more like a local gathering spot where meals carry stories — from celebrations with classic cars filling the parking lot to quiet lunches enjoyed with a respectful nod from the friendly team. It’s a place where food and atmosphere quietly combine to make you feel both nourished and welcomed, the kind of experience that lingers long after the last bite.

Lydia's is amazing! Excellent staff, Excellent food, and Excellent customer service! They accommodated a huge crowd from the WVVW Vintage VW club today and even gave us a parking place to show off all of our classic Volkswagens.

Great service, excellent food. Both the red sauce and salsa that came with the chips are delicious! This was a great find, we are so glad we stumbled upon them.

Don’t believe the low 4.3 review! You MUST TRY LYDIA’S food! We walked inside Anita’s and walked right out. The shop lady at The Peaceful Pony recommended Lydia’s & we should have listened to her and headed straight to Lydia’s. Friendly staff, great salsa & chips. Hot food, the beans and rice are great. Give it try and judge for yourself. I tried the Chile Relleno Combo( was amazing) . Will come back again from Phoenix.

My husband and I wanted to treat my Aunt out to lunch and she wanted Mexican food. She told us about Lydia's in Wickenburg which is about 20 mins or so from where she lives. So we went there for lunch. Our waiter was very nice and respectful. The food was really good. My husband had their enchilada combo, and I had their fry bread with all the fixings it was very good, my aunt had shredded beef with corn tortillas on the side. Their tea had an old taste to it so my husband and I ended up Changing our drinks to soda. Our waiter was very apologetic for the tea. So if your going into Wickenburg and want some good Mexican food go to Lydia's.
